Since the start of 2026, our German plants in Dreihausen and Apolda have taken a significant step forward in our shared commitment to tackling climate change. We’ve switched to 100% renewable electricity, certified to TÜV SÜD CMS Standard 93 and registered with the German Federal Environment Agency.
At our Dr. Schär R&D Centre in Trieste (Italy), we have inaugurated a new high-tech pilot plant. With an investment of approximately €1.2 million, this marks an important step forward in our journey of innovation in special nutrition. This is not just a new production facility, but an environment designed to bring research even closer to its real-world application. Here, we can accelerate product development through the use of artificial intelligence, making the transition from the experimental phase to industrial production more seamless and direct.
On the occasion of International Coeliac Disease Awareness Day (16 May), Dr. Schär is renewing its commitment to increasingly balanced and sustainable gluten-free nutrition in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals by continuing to optimise the nutritional content of Schär gluten-free products.
