We are proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our Nutrition Service (NuSe).
For us, NuSe is much more than a corporate function: since its inception, it has been an integral part of Dr. Schär’s Global Marketing Team and represents a distinctive element within the industry. A deliberate choice that, from the very beginning, involved integrating dietitians within the company, with the aim of bringing nutritional expertise into every decision, from product development to communication. Over the years, this approach has also been reflected in the growth of the structure: from an initial team of three people, it has evolved into an international and multidisciplinary organisation of 20 professionals, with an increasingly strategic role.
Over the past twenty years, NuSe has closely followed the evolution of coeliac disease and the gluten-free diet, establishing itself as a reference point capable not only of observing change, but also of actively contributing to shaping it. By consistently listening to the needs of healthcare professionals and people with special nutritional needs, it has been able to translate them into practical solutions designed to genuinely improve everyday life.
This journey has helped redefine the role of special nutrition, moving beyond a purely therapeutic approach often perceived as restrictive. Through a deep understanding of eating habits and preferences across different countries, increasingly relevant and accessible solutions have been developed. In this context, dietary therapy, nutritional quality, variety and taste come together to respond more effectively to people’s needs, contributing to the normalisation of special nutrition.
This activity goes beyond nutrition alone and extends across the entire diagnostic and therapeutic pathway of people with coeliac disease, taking shape through integrated initiatives and collaborations tailored to the specific characteristics of individual markets. Strengthening scientific dialogue, supporting diagnosis and developing training, awareness and institutional collaboration initiatives all contribute to more effective disease management and to reducing diagnosis times in key countries, including Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Twenty years after its creation, NuSe looks to the future with the same vision: to continue innovating and making special nutrition increasingly accessible, personalised and informed, improving people’s lives.
