Since launching in 1981, the Dr. Schär Group has quickly become the leading producer of gluten free food in Europe with 40 per cent of the market share, and with latest Kantar Worldpanel data (w/e 20 March 2011) showing the UK gluten and wheat free sector to be worth more than £125.1million, the company is confident that it will be able to call upon its three decades of experience to continue to grow its market share in the UK.
Dr. Schär UK, which is based in Warrington, has already had a successful year by pioneering the first gluten and wheat free frozen range to be available in the Republic of Ireland. The leading supplier has also teamed up with The Cooperative to launch the retailer’s first frozen free from products in the UK.
Dr. Schär UK also recently branched into the hospitality industry by launching the first gluten free foodservice range under the DS-gluten free brand, which looks to help restaurateurs and other catering professionals engage with free from consumers and tap into the expanding gluten and wheat free sector.
